Retirement provision has been one of the most discussed topics lately. Bank Vontobel is positioning itself cleverly and has not only invested in Yapeal, but also published its own pension solution.
Before we start the Vontobel Volt 3a App Today we would like to take a look at the fees and the concept behind the Volt 3a app.
If you have any more questions on the topic, we look forward to an exchange in the comments!
Nicely done: The Volt app combines the pension section for the Volt 3a app with the normal investment section of Vontobel Volt. Many clients appreciate this, because they already have enough apps on their smartphones anyway.
The Account opening in the Volt app works simply and straightforwardly, as is the case today with competitors such as Frankly or perhaps Viac knows.
Alternatively, you can have a first Volt 3a experience in demo mode and see what the cockpit would look like.
It is also nice to be able to dive into the different investment strategies and see which products will be invested in.
Almost made us laugh: A change in strategy for Selma Finance or Frankly, for example, works conveniently & instantaneously in the app. That's why we found the note on changing the strategy in the app's demo mode funny: "Would you like to change your investment strategy? Then call us on +41 ...".
You are welcome to get an impression of how the app currently looks like:

One positive aspect is that fees are handled transparently from the outset. The Vontobel Volt 3a fee structure is frequently linked and we would therefore like to take a look at it.
Known from other providers, the fees are also divided here. No matter what your investment with Volt 3a is, there will be a Annual fee of 0.48% on your assets. In addition, product costs between 0.22% - 0.43% are added. These vary depending on the amount of your share quota or the use of the securities you have invested.
This means that the Vontobel Volt 3a Fees significantly higher (about twice as high) than with Frankly or, say, Finpension. They are similar to Selma's Pillar 3a solution. Here you can find a comparison digital 3a pension apps with securities.
Vontobel Volt 3a offers a choice of 5 strategies, which differ in their dynamics and their share of securities.
What we are missing for the comparison here is the exact strategy used in each case. We would like to know the share quota and compare it with, for example Frankly compare
The Vontobel Volt 3a solution was brand new to the market at the time of publication of this report and did not previously provide this info in the app or on the website.
The graphical representation leads us to believe a maximum of about 80% share, but this is only an estimate from the animation (see screenshots above).
We have already reached our maximum contribution this year with another provider, so we cannot invest in the Vontobel Volt 3a app for you. Frankly, we are not 100%y convinced by the design yet either. On the one hand Transparency is written in capital letters (literally on the Vontobel website), but the details of the Volt 3a investment strategy remain hidden.
On the other hand, for our taste there is a bit little Innovation which, of course, is not absolutely necessary. We would simply have been pleased to see a new positioning or something similar.
The Fees are total under 1%, but in comparison to the digital leaders in 3a pension provision clearly too high. Presumably, the Volt 3a app is used in particular by existing clients of Bank Vontobel.
Are you already a Vontobel client and considering the Volt 3a app for yourself?
What is your Volt assessment? Or have you already had some Vontobel Volt experience? Then feel free to share them in the comments.

Hello
Meanwhile there is another competitor with an app. http://www.finpension.ch
I would also be pleased to read a comparison / report about it, because I want to open a 3A pension plan with one of these providers in the near future.
Thank you very much.
Kind regards
Hello, Fabian,
the review of Finpension is already in planning 🙂 and another, innovative 3a provider is also ready. Everything soon in the Blog and pension range! Best regards!
