Perhaps you already know the formerly very popular Migros Cumulus Cardwhich was known for generous cashback in the form of points. With the expiry of the partnerships with various merchants and thus also this card, Cembra has launched new offers, including the Certo! One Mastercard, to the market.
The new credit card for collecting cashback has many advantagesthat are hard to beat:
The credit card also has its downsides. However, these disadvantages only occur in specific scenarios that you can easily circumvent. When using abroad become 1.5 % Foreign currency fees due and also Cash withdrawals are subject to a charge.
In addition, she is currently still Not compatible with Google Pay. Also the Instalment interest lies at quite high 12,95 %. Therefore, you should use them mainly as a means of payment, less as a financing option.
So use the following tips to get the most out of your Certo One credit card:
Besides advantages and disadvantages, each credit card has certain core features. Here are the main features the Certo! One Mastercard:

In the meantime, these procedures have become standard and are a must for anyone who wants to be secure in the digital world. Combine 2-factor authentication with smsTAN or the fingerprint to have the highest level of security.
The credit card fees are really fair. Cembra has based its Certo Mastercard fees on the concept of the formerly successful Cumulus Mastercard and adopted the fees almost 1 to 1.

The expiring partnership with Migros has produced the Certo! One Mastercard. It is the replacement for the Cumulus Mastercard or Visa from Cembra, which has now been discontinued and is no longer valid since July 2022. Migros has launched a new Migros credit card as a competing product, the Migros Cumulus Mastercard.
However, the Migros credit card has a less attractive cashback function and, for example, no best price guarantee.
Here is a direct comparison of the two credit cards:
Certo! One Mastercard | Cumulus Visa | |
---|---|---|
Cashback | 1% and 0.33% as real money | 1 Cumulus point per CHF 1 at Migros; 1 Cumulus point per CHF 3 outside Migros |
Insurances | Travel, best price and shopping insurance | Travel interruption insurance and various other |

Probably the best credit card for scoring, saving and everyday use was the Cembra Cumulus Credit Card. In the meantime, Cembra has found a worthy and better Successor launched.
The big difference is the real cashback. You get your collected cashback every 3 months. So now it's real money that you can use to invest or spend in your free time, for example.
Use Certo One for domestic payments and purchases in Swiss francs. This is where the biggest advantages come into play.
Cash withdrawals, payments abroad or instalment payments become expensive, here you can rely on one of the following cards fall back on.

If Cembra can't even write correctly in this URL, how can you trust this card? (see: "Starting balance")
😀 It's always good to be critical of new offers.
Thanks for pointing out the typo
Good report, the new credit card from Migros with Migros Bank is a Visa not an MC as in the report.
Furthermore, the best price guarantee is not as lucrative as it seems at first glance. The difference must be considerable to be able to apply at all, a few francs are not!
Cumulus Mastercard Foreign Currency Fee 0%
Although I loved the former Cembra/Migros card, I switched to Certo and am "almost" 100% satisfied. Still have to re-register the card when the app is updated, over and over again. This is so annoying and you always have to have your registration data to hand. These are only valid for 1/2 year. After that, you have to request it again and it will be sent to you by post, which also takes a few days. This should be fixed as soon as possible. No app is as unstable as this one. Everything else is great in my eyes.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Angie!
- Why no Google Pay ? very strange....
- Cumulus Visa abroad and Certo! & Cumulus in Migros (double Cumulus after 1 year 😉)
- .... otherwise all clear !
Another disadvantage of the (or all) Cembra cards: they do not offer payment of invoices via eBill. So you always have to do it manually and always remember to do it. If you forget to do it, it costs you interest and reminder fees. With the new Cumulus credit card (from Migros Bank), the bill comes in directly via eBill, and you could even set up a permanent release so that everything is paid automatically.
Thanks for your addition, Daniel!
Unfortunately, my experience with Cembra is not the same as with the tester.
On 10 July 2023, I reserved day tickets from home at the municipality and paid for them with the Certo card and confirmed them with the app.
By chance, 4 withdrawals from Brazil were debited from my account on that day, my card was blocked and I received a new card.
Which is basically correct. The check by Cembra showed that I had authorised the payments from Brazil and that it was my mistake.
If this were the case, why was my card blocked by Cembra without further inquiry?
Okey, I drew my consequences from this and dissolved my relations with Cembra.
Important: always pay your Cembra invoice on time, otherwise you will be charged a CHF 30 reminder fee.
Thanks for the report
Combination Cashback Card from Amex and described Cembra Certo One is the best solution.
