Cryptocurrencies are becoming more and more known to the broad investor community. Thus, the demand for a safe, reliable and inexpensive provider for trading, custody and staking cryptocurrencies is increasing.
So today we present our Bitcoin Suisse experience. Bitcoin Suisse was launched in 2013 and is now considered the market leader in the Swiss crypto finance industry.
In this Bitcoin Suisse review, we will look at crypto brokerage, custody, staking and other services offered by the Zug-based company.
If you have any more questions on the topic, we look forward to an exchange in the comments!
Whenever new markets open up, dubious providers often enter the market. A trustworthy, secure and reputable crypto broker forms the absolute basis for investments. The Bitcoin Suisse team has been proving this since 2013 and has now grown to almost 200 employees.
Niklas Nikolajsen is the main founder behind the provider. Niklas is a multiple Bitcoin millionaire, software architect and a well-known figure in the crypto scene. More about the Bitcoin Suisse Team you can find out on this page.
Incidentally, Bitcoin Suisse is regulated and plans to obtain a Swiss banking licence in the long term. With regard to security, the website states "Assets that are not in our custody solution are fully covered by a bank guarantee from a Swiss bank totalling CHF 145 million." Security is a top priority at Bitcoin Suisse and is also specifically emphasised in the Bitcoin Suisse Vault secured.
In general, the company is one of the driving forces behind "Krypto Valley" and the crypto location Switzerland.
We have been investing with Bitcoin Suisse AG for several years and are very satisfied overall with the constantly growing offering, the attentive support and the user experience. The private client solution is kept very simple and offers exciting features such as staking. Questions (such as "what is staking?") are also answered directly on the website.
Unfortunately, Bitcoin Suisse has repositioned itself over the years and is no longer aimed directly at private clients. The minimum volume has also been raised considerably, which is why Relai is probably the more exciting solution for Swiss private customers.
Bitcoin Suisse Advantages
Bitcoin Suisse Disadvantages
The Bitcoin Suisse fees are as follows:
Purchases and sales are executed on the world's most prominent exchanges for best execution. The best possible transaction is sought in terms of price, fees and security. The fees are then made up of the trading fee and the trading price, as is also shown in the trade. More in this video about the Bitcoin Suisse fees and their composition. Overall, the fees are not the cheapest, but for the service provided, we don't think they cast a bad light on our Bitcoin Suisse experience.
When it comes to the topic of security and safekeeping, Bitcoin Suisse Vault and other topics quickly come into focus. The specially built, so-called cold storage platform was audited by PricewaterHouseCoopers. All assets that are not stored in this cold storage (offline storage that is not connected to the network) are fully secured by a Swiss bank guarantee up to CHF 145 million.
By the way, if you want to link your own wallet, you can find here corresponding video instructions and content.
Our Bitcoin Suisse review may look quite different in a few months, as the platform is constantly evolving. When we first invested with Bitcoin Suisse, there were no staking or similar offerings. Tokenization and payments as well as other offers are mainly for B2B customers in the program.
But it is precisely the crypto staking may be of interest to you. With staking, you support the blockchain by holding your cryptos in the wallet for a certain amount of time and receive compensation in return. This varies depending on the currency and typically ranges from 5% - 20%. This turns your crypto assets into real assets, earning you ongoing wealth. This is similar to dividends for stock companies.
Bitcoin Suisse Staking is possible for some cryptos and very easy to implement. We use this due to our buy and hold strategy for all offered assets.
So who is Bitcoin Suisse suitable for? Unfortunately, the offering has now become too professional to be aimed at private clients. The Fees and minimum volumes are far too high has become. There used to be no custody fees, but today CHF 250 per year is payable, which is too much for private investors. Relai from Switzerland or about Bitpanda from Austria are the more suitable contact points here.
How did you like our Bitcoin Suisse experience report? Is there anything you still miss? Do you have a topic you'd like us to cover in the future?

Hello Eric
A note: I studied the FAQs of Bitcoin Suisse today, 27.10.. And it says: " Please note that due to the high volume of customers, we have introduced a minimum amount of CHF 100,000 for private individuals (...)." https://support.bitcoinsuisse.com/hc/de/articles/360018894620-Wann-kann-ich-die-Dienstleistungen-von-Bitcoin-Suisse-nutzen-
You have to search hard to find this central information. As a normal consumer, you are probably not welcome there.
One question: if I want to buy other coins besides Bitcoins: do you recommend Bitpanda? You hear different things...
Many thanks by the way for your extremely helpful and competent service!!!
Hello Franziska
thank you for your feedback! The amount has been adjusted from CHF 20t to 100t. If you want to trade more than one currency, you can definitely use the Bitpandabut also larger stock exchanges such as Binance View. Bitpanda is rather simple in the user interface, while Binance is very much aimed at professionals and traders. Besides these, there are of course many more to choose from. Make sure you look for seriousness, whether they are safe and hidden fees.
